In Canada, tattooing is regulated by the provinces and territories, usually through public health rules for personal service settings, and some cities add business licences. Health Canada regulates tattoo inks as cosmetics. Health answers are sensitive personal information under federal or provincial privacy law.

Parental consent is not an exception
There is no federal tattoo age, and most provinces have no statute on it. Studios commonly require clients to be 18, or a minor to bring a parent. Inkeva defaults to 18.
